Union Pacific Track Removal Notice
  To Fremont resident,

As part of the Grade Separation Project, Union Pacific Railroad (UP) successfully relocated its rail operations to its new railroad corridor on September 22, 2008. Motorists are now accustomed to the new locations of
the railroad crossings on both Paseo Padre Parkway and Washington Boulevard.

Union Pacific Railroad's (UP) testing of its new tracks is scheduled to end around October 22, 2008, at
which point UP is expected to accept the new corridor and then, in the near future, transfer
its former corridor to the City's right-of-way.

In order to complete this process, the railroad will begin removing the rails, ties, and ballast
(the rocks) from its former corridor to allow work on the remaining portion of the Grade
Separation Project to continue. This work is expected to begin around October 22, 2008 and
continue through December 20, 2009.

For more information on this work, please see attached document.
